K Kleen Terms & Conditions

1. Definitions

`Company’ refers to K Kleen and `Client’ refers to the person who accepts the quotation or who authorises K Kleen to carry out the works.

2. General

Any email, telephone or confirmation via the website shall be deemed to be an offer by the Client for K Kleen to carry out the works to these Terms and Conditions. The contract between K Kleen and the client in respect of the works comes into existence when K Kleen accepts to carry out the work in accordance with the Terms and Conditions herein. All house cleaning materials and equipment must be provided by the client on the arrival of K Kleen operatives unless alternative arrangements have been agreed.

These Terms and Conditions shall not be altered, modified or varied unless expressly agreed in writing by K Kleen. The agreement of these Terms and Conditions shall void any previously signed Terms and Conditions.

3. Price

The price shall be the price quoted by K Kleen at the time of the client placing the order. Any variation to the price due to extra work hours or extra services such as cleaning venetian blinds e.t.c. will be charged and invoiced accordingly to the customer placing the order. A standard cleaning service does not include the cleaning of:



Exterior windows

Washing up

Cleaning or debris created by tradesmen or any building work

However, all extra services can be quoted for and charged on top if requested. The company charges VAT at a rate of 20%.

4. Payment

All payments for services provided by K Kleen to the client should be paid direct to K Kleen upon completion of the work unless alternative arrangements have been made. Payment can be made via cheque, cash, BAC’s transfer, debit or credit card. Any bank charges incurred by the company due to un-cleared cheques will be passed directly to the client as a flat rate of £30 per un-cleared cheque. In the event of late payment K Kleen reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts at an interest of 6% above the prevailing bank base rate calculated on a daily basis. A £40 administration fee will be charged, in addition to the balance due, for any account referred for collection.

5. Insurance

K Kleen is not insured in the use of any ladders. Furniture can be moved however as Health and Safety restrictions apply, only furniture which can be moved by one cleaner will be moved. All other furniture will remain unless two or more cleaners are present. K Kleen has a comprehensive public and employers’ liability insurance. The company is legally liable for any accidental damage caused by company operatives, (up to £1,000,000), or to the company operatives, (up to £10,000,000).

6. Guarantee

In the event of the client being dis-satisfied with the service provided by K Kleen, the Company will ensure a re-cleaning is carried out as long as the complaint is received within 24 hours after the completion of the service. Any team member found to be inadequate will be dismissed immediately by the company.

7. Liability

K Kleen will reimburse for all costs of changing locks in the event of lost keys. K Kleen will use their preferred Locksmiths; locks changed by the client or a third party will result in this guarantee becoming void. The company will not be held responsible for any damage caused by ineffective and inappropriate cleaning materials provided by the client. The company will also not be held responsible for any discolouring of fabrics which become more visible once soil has been removed. The removal of any old permanent stains by the use of normal cleaning materials and techniques cannot be guaranteed and the company will not be held responsible for any such lack of removal. Any unpaid amounts owing to K Kleen will first be deducted from any compensation owed to the client. The company will not be held responsible for any cleaning service not completed due to the lack of equipment or cleaning materials by the client, the lack of hot water or power or for third parties being present during the services being provided. K Kleen also reserves the right not to be held responsible for any accidental damages under the value of £50. K Kleen shall not be held responsible for any damage due to faulty and/or improper installation of any item. All surfaces, (i.e. marble, granite e.t.c.), are assumed to be sealed and ready to clean without causing harm. The client must provide information to the company about any items or surfaces which are not so.

8. Claims

All damages, breakages and thefts must be reported to K Kleen from the client within a 48 hour period, any claims after this time will be invalid. Identical replacement is always attempted by the company, but it not guaranteed. For this specific reason, the company requests all irreplaceable items, (whether monetarily or sentimentally valuable), are stored away and/or not cleaned by the company’s operatives. All claims are subject to an excess of £50.

9. Complaints

The client must report a complaint within 24 hours of the service provided by K Kleen. The company will then provide a complementary re-clean. The customer must ensure K Kleen must re-clean any disputed areas before the client or a third party does so. Failure to do so will void the company guarantee.

10. Sub-Contracting

In the case of a company operative not fulfilling their duties for any reason, the company will ensure a replacement operative is provided for the same day/time or as near to as possible. K Kleen reserves the right to use any sub-contractor for their services. All K Kleen operatives use transport and the client understands if any such delays occur, they are unavoidable.

11. Confidentiality

Both the company and the client are obliged not to disclose any confidential information about either party to a third party.

12. Headings

The headings of these Conditions are for convenience only and shall have no effect on the interpretation thereof.

13. Termination

In the event the services provided by K Kleen are terminated, the client will not be allowed to employ the services of any K Kleen operative for a minimum period of six months. On cancellation of a single cleaning visit by the client, if more than 24 hours are given then the company will not charge the client. However, if it is less than 24 hours than 50% of the invoice will be charged to the client.

Any reduction in contracted hours can be reduced by the client by giving two weeks written notice. If one months’ written notice is given, the client can terminate all cleaning services with the company.

14. Jurisdiction

The Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English Law and the Courts of England shall have jurisdiction to hear all disputes arising in connection with the Agreement. Any breach in these Terms and Conditions will result in immediate legal action.
